Hello everyone, I’m Cristina and welcome to Orophile Stories!
I’ve been living in Switzerland for almost 2 years, but I was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania.
Back in Romania, I worked in IT. And I hope to continue my career in the same field here in Switzerland. However, this website has nothing to do with IT. In fact, after working in a stressful environment, I felt the need for something more relaxing and creative – and that’s how Orophile Stories was born.
I truly enjoy slow travel, hiking, nature, and discovering new and exotic destinations. I also love reading and staying active. So I decided to create a space where I could share these passions while hopefully providing useful information that makes planning your own trips a little easier.
Here, you’ll find travel guides, detailed itineraries, practical tips, and ideas based on the countries and places I’ve travelled to. All articles are based on my personal experiences as well as my own research. Some tourist attractions included in my guides may be places I haven’t personally visited yet. If I believe they are worth seeing, I may still include them and make it clear when I haven’t experienced them myself. For example, the Pico do Arieiro trail was closed when I visited Madeira, but I still consider it one of the island’s spectacular experiences based on my research and everything I’ve seen and heard from other travellers.
Orophile Stories is not a full-time travel blog. It’s a personal space where I share my journeys, experiences, and ideas at my own pace. In the future, I’d also love to add some lifestyle content and explore maybe other topics that inspires me.
I have so many places to explore and stories to write about, but one step at a time. For now, I’m still learning, experimenting, and getting used to this little project of mine.
